If you haven’t checked out Lori Holt’s blog, Bee in my Bonnet, recently you might have missed that her third book Farm Girl Vintage has just been released! I have long been a fan of Loris first book Quilty Fun and after spotting various sneak peeks popping up on Lori’s instagram feed I knew this was another book I would have to get!
Farm Girl Vintage is similar to Quilty Fun but with a Vintage, Country, Farm Girl theme. If you want to pre-order Farm Girl Vintage we will be getting a delivery next week and shipping them out for the weekend.
You can see below some of the 45 traditional and cute farm themed blocks that Lori has bought to life in the book.
Each sampler block can be made in both 6 inch and 12 inch sizes and there are detailed instructions to make 10 quilts, 2 table runners, a table topper and a pot holder!
I was incredibly excited to hear Lori is going to be leading a Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along over on her blog and on Instagram. It starts on Friday 1st May and will continue until mid-October, each Friday Lori will be sewing 2 blocks from the book with 45 blocks being sewn in total!
I took part in Lori’s Quilty Fun Christmas Sew Along in November and finished my quilt in January (its so cute I will share it here soon!), needless to say I cannot wait to start the Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along!
Fabulous Farm Girl Bundle
First up is the Fabulous Farm Girl bundle this bumper bundle contains 30 fat quarters inspired by Lori in her go to colour palette of Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Aqua and Blue along with some of those oh so useful low volume prints.
Skinny Farm Girl Bundle
If you are thinking of using some of your own stash but want a bundle to get started with have a look at our Skinny Farm Girl bundle which is a paired down version of the Fabulous bundle and contains 14 fat quarters.
Low Volume Farm Girl
If you want to add some Low Volume fabrics to your stash our Low Volume Farm Girl Bundle contains 8 fat quarters to co-ordinate with Lori’s of Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Aqua and Blue colour palette.
Throughout the sew-a-long Lori has recommended low volume polka dots on white for background fabrics. We have pulled together our Sevenberry dots on a white background in pink, blue and beige if you are looking for a Swiss dot.
Pick & Mix Farm Girl
If you fancy choosing your own fabrics for the Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along I have set up a Farm Girl Fabric category on the website where you can pick and mix your Farm Girl inspired fabrics, there is even a feature on there that you can view them by colour!
I hope you will join me on the Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along, I will be sharing my progress here on the blog and over on Instagram, I can’t wait to have a quilty kind of summer!
