Crochet Colour Palette: Moonlight Waltz

When it comes to starting a new crochet project one of the most fun and sometimes challenging aspect of the project is deciding on the colours to use. That’s where we can help. Every week we will be posting a crochet colour palette of the week matched back to a range of wool stocked here at the Homemakery. Over time we will build up a library of crochet colour palettes so if you are ever looking for inspiration pop back and click on the tag Crochet Colour Palette.

A day late with this weeks Crochet Colour Palette that bank holiday really threw me and I have been playing catch up ever since! Hopefully Moonlight Waltz makes up for it, its uses soft dusky shades of mulberry, teal and sage paired with dark grey and beige. If you wanted a more subtle colour palette swapping the slate for a cream would work a treat!

New In: Tilda Tiny Treasures and Happiness is Homemade

Tilda AW 2014

The arrival of Tildas new fabric collections always cause much excitement as I love to see what colour palettes and prints Tone Finnanger has come up with for the season.  I’m pleased to report that the two brand new collections for Autumn/Winter 2014 are very lovely indeed!

The Autumn Winter collections feature a good mix of print sizes although the focus is certainly on smaller prints which makes it perfect for a spot of patchwork. As always there are some great basics in the mix including two mini star prints, three spots and three new tickings. These always prove so versatile for all sorts of projects.

Tiny Treasures

The Tiny Treasures fabric collection features pinky reds alongside dusky cornflower blues with a hint of green and grey. The Tiny Treasures collection is quintessentially Tilda and is certainly proving to be the more popular collection of the two at the moment.

Happiness is Homemade

I love the name of this new collection, Happiness is Homemade, well that certainly rings true here at the Homemakery. The Happiness is Homemade collection features a more subtle co-ordinating colour palettes of two shades of green, olive and mint, paired with cream and blue grey. I love some of the samples they have put together over on the Tildas World website it has a really understated elegance to it and offers something a little different for a sophisticated winter colour palette.

Tilda Happiness is Homemade Fabric Bundle

Along with each Tilda fabric release comes a new book. Happiness is Homemade is due out in September and if you are a fan of Tone’s books there are a few peeks of what you can expect to see over on the Tildas World blog.

Tilda Book

If you fancy treating yourself to the new Autumn/Winter 2014 Tilda fabric collections we are doing a special offer of 10% off the fabric bundles over the bank holiday weekend, which basically works out as a free fat quarter! You can find the Tiny Treasures bundle here and the Happiness is Homemade bundle here or if you prefer to mix and match your fabric they are all available by the fat quarter here!

Have a great bank holiday weekend and I hope you manage to fit in a spot of crafting!

Despite it being August there has been a definite chill in the air this last week and as the nights begin drawing in a little earlier every evening there is a definite reminder that Autumn will be with us soon. I’m desperately missing the hot summer days already but at the same time I’m enjoying coming up with new Crochet Colour Palettes for the Autumn/Winter Seasons. At the Circus I think fits the bill quite well with pops of Lime Green, Red and Petrol against Dark Grey and Greige. Its such a versatile palette it would work well for blankets or dare I mention it hats and scarves!
