Rico Design: Wild Wild Wool

What with the arrival of St Judes storm on Monday, the clocks going back at the weekend and waking up to frosts for the past two mornings in a row it feels like its time to say goodbye to autumn and hello to winter.

The changing of the seasons isn’t so bad as it means its time to dig out the chunky wool and get hooking and knitting!! Excellent timing since we have just added two brand new ranges of Chunky Wool to the Homemakery.  Rico Essentials Super Super Chunky and Rico Creative Bonbon Super Chunky  both are super chunky wool/acrylic mix yarns.

Rico Creative Bonbon comes in a range of pretty variegated colours:

We are big big fans of these two new yarns because they come with an awesome pattern book packed full of hats, scarves and snoods to knit and crochet. We really aren’t a pattern book buying shop so it had to be a pretty awesome book to tempt us to stock it!

Wild Wild Wool from Rico Design is THE pattern book for autumn/winter 2013/14 with easy to follow crochet, knitting patterns and instructions for beginners and beyond.

I have spent the last few weeks whipping up many a blackberry and apple crumble trying to make the most of the abundance of apples and blackberries this year. I love the berry tones of the cooked blackberries coupled with the green apples and of course the oatmeal topping, it makes for a rather lovely crochet colour palette.
